Nokia 6.1 Plus receiving stable Android 9 Pie update

Nokia 6.1 Plus Android 9 Pie update

After the Nokia 6.1, HMD Global has started rolling out Android 9 Pie update to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, just as promised. The handset becomes the third from Nokia to run on the new OS. The Nokia 7 Plus had the OS from May 2018 in beta and received the stable version a few weeks ago.

Juho Sarvikas, as usual, took to Twitter to break the news and gauging by the number of responders, the OS is coming in pretty fast with software version 3.30B and weighs nearly 1.4GB, so be sure to get a stable Wi-Fi connection to do the upgrade.

As part of the Pie update, the Nokia 6.1 Plus has been updated with new system navigation, settings menu and notification system, adaptive battery, app actions, as well as the latest Android security patch for the month of October 2018.

Being an OTA update, it will take a few days before all Nokia 6.1 Plus units get the download notification. You can either wait or try forcing the update via the Settings menu.
