Nokia 5.1 Plus Android Pie update: Rolling out now

Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer of HMD global- the company that owns Nokia- has announced today on his Twitter handle that they have begun rolling out Android Pie for Nokia 5.1 Plus.

Being a phased rollout, some time is sure to pass before all the models receive the update, even though the Nokia 5.1 Plus is as clean and swift an updation job as is possible, being a part of the Android One program.

With Android Pie update, you get new set of features that includes Navigation Gestures, Digital Wellbeing, App Actions, App Slices, a handy rotation lock button (really cool), new UI for Recents screen, newer material UI design, Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, etc.

Nokia 5.1 Plus Android 9 Pie

Nokia 5.1 Plus features a 5.86″ display featuring an HD display, and is powered by Helio P60 processor. You can get either of the 3/32GB or 4/64GB combo of RAM and storage, while as regards camera, you get a dual camera of 13+5MP sensors, and an 8MP sensor on the front.

Powered with a 3,060mAh battery, the Nokia 5.1 Plus weighs in at 160grams while being 8.1mm thick. Sure, the device isn’t great when it comes to pure spec sheet but given the power stock UI, running Android 8.1 by default and now Android 9 Pie, you can be sure that it won’t disappoint you in the performance department at this price.
