AT&T Note 9 July update released, also gets you Night Mode and RCS

Update [August 07, 2019]: We just got wind of another cool feature that is making its way to AT&T note 9 users today as part of the July update, and that’s support for Universal profile (RCS). Once on the new update (CSGA), install/open the Google’s messaging app and you will have a new Chat feature available now.

AT&T Note 9 update RCS

US telecom giant, AT&T has started rolling out an update for the Galaxy Note 9, finally bringing the dedicated Night mode, QR scanner support, and the July security patch.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 packs pretty great camera hardware, but its low-light performance is still not up to the mark. Samsung’s dedicated Night mode has worked wonders in the case of Galaxy S10 and is set to give the Note 9 a similar boost. As regards the QR scanner feature, find the new quick setting button by swiping down the notification panel two times.

The OTA, which carries software version N960USQU2CSGA, also updates the device’s security patch to July 1st, 2019 while adding Advanced Messaging support. There’s also a subtle cosmetic tweak in case of NFC icon, which now stays persistent when NFC is working.

As it’s an incremental OTA, it could take a while for your AT&T Note 9 to get the automatic update notification. To initiate it manually, go to Settings > Software update > Check for updates. If you don’t get the update immediately, try repeating the process a couple of times.

The update is pretty beefy in size, weighing in at 882MB.
