Nexus 6 spotted running Android 7.1.1 on GFXbench

The Motorola Nexus 6 is yet to get the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat update officially, and it looks like it might happen soon. The Nexus 6 has been spotted running the latest update on GFXBench.

So far, the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, 5X, Nexus 9, Pixel C and the Nexus Player have all received the Android 7.1.1 update. The Nexus 6, however, has not received the latest software update yet. It did receive several other bug fix updates, but all were based on Android 7.0.

Last month, the Nexus 6 was spotted running Android 7.1, but Google may now be testing the latest Android version on the device. Most manufacturers are skipping the Android 7.0 update and delivering the latest 7.1.1 iteration.

The Nexus 6 will be the last of the Google products to be supported for official Nougat updates. The Motorola made device was released in November of 2014, but will most likely get the latest Nougat update.

The CyanogenMod ROM based on Android 7.1 is already available for the Nexus 6, but then, after today’s news, it’s better to wait for the official release.
