Nexus 6 finally starts receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat again

Motorola Nexus 6 is a three year old device. Despite this, Google started rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat to the device way back in March. However, the build was not totally error free and as such it was pulled back bringing the Nexus 6 back to Android 7.0 Nougat.

Since then users of the device have been waiting for a stable build of Android 7.1.1 to hit them. This wait ends now as Google has seemingly started rolling out a new software update to Nexus which installs Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.

The update weighs 368 MB and is being rolled out over the air. The update also includes fix for critical bugs and improves the performance and stability of your device. If you own a Nexus 6 device, you should start looking for the update.

Notably, those with Android 7.0 Nougat will be able to bump the software to Android 7.1.1 build with ease. However, if anyone still has the Android 7.1.1 build on their Nexus 6, they will be required to first downgrade to Android 7.0 before being able to soak in the latest software.
