Nexus 4 Release Date for Italy confirmed to be at the end of December

The new king of smartphones, the Google Nexus 4 by LG, is all set to take the mobile world by storm, come November 13th. In a first of sorts, Google announced a $349 price (€ 349 in Europe) for the 16GB version of the latest Nexus phone ordered directly via Google Play, and given the kind of hardware, software and firepower this chap packs, not to mention the fact that it is a Nexus device, it caused a mad scramble for pre-orders amongst Android enthusiasts, with folks anxiously ticking off the hours in the countdown towards D-day.

The unprecedented pricing has led to a huge influx of pre-orders not only on the Play Store but also to whichever retailer was accepting them. With Google attaching a higher priority to orders placed directly via its own Google Play, countries where the Nexus 4 is to be sold through other channels, are likely to face a delay in supply of stocks, not surprisingly. Italian website Android HD Blog reports, that Italy is likely to not see the Nexus 4 till the end of December due to this supply delay. Apparently, a minimum delay of four weeks has been confirmed by LG themselves.

While this may sound a bit disappointing for Italian customers, it also means that LG is going to have to step up on production full time, to be able to meet the thunderous demand for its first Nexus phone. And considering its a first, LG sure as hell wouldn’t want to be caught napping.
