New update for AT&T Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ brings August security patch

After receiving July security patch last month, all the three S6 variants, the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ from AT&T are now receiving August security patch.

The update, which is Android 7.0.1 Nougat based is being rolled out over the air (OTA) and may take some time to appear on your device. The update arrives as software version G920AUCS6EQH1, G925AUCS6EQH1 and G928AUCS4EQH1 for Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ respectively.

As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.

It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update and keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent. If you haven’t received the update yet, you can check for it manually via the device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.

Meanwhile, Samsung recently announced its next model of Samsung Note series, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. It features 6.4 inch AMOLED infinity screen, 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 processor and dual rear cameras.
