New AT&T Galaxy S7 Active update brings Advanced Messaging feature and April security patch

A new update has started to roll out for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active on AT&T, bringing the AT&T Advanced Messaging feature to the device.

Through AT&T Advanced Messaging — Internet Protocol Message (IPME) V2, you can transfer files of up to 10 MB (100 MB for some), get read and delivery receipts, see typing notification, add emojis and stickers to your messages, and more.

The OTA update also bumps up your Galaxy S7 Active‘s security patch to April 1st, 2019.

As it’s an incremental update, it might take a while for your device to get the automatic update notification. To look for the update manually, go to Settings, locate and tap Software update, then Check for updates.

The update baseband version is G891AUCU6CSF2 and it weighs in at 330 MB.
