ASUS has started rolling out a new update for its affordable flagship, the Zenfone 5Z. This will bump the software on the device to version 220.127.116.11.
The new build adds a few new improvements and new features. For starters, you get support for a new Selfie Panorama mode. On top of that, the update also includes an adjustment for the battery percentage and a fix for the face unlock issues that have been plaguing the device.
ASUS says that since this release is distributed in batches, it might take a few days before you will be able to see the update on your Zenfone 5Z. If you’re getting impatient, you can always go to Settings>System>System updates. Or you can simply download it from here.
- Recovery ROM | 1.62 GB
(You can install the update using Local update method)
The ASUS Zenfone 5Z launched with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, so you’re probably wondering when is my handset getting Android 9.0 Pie, right?
ASUS has promised it will upgrade the Zenfone 5Z to the latest Android version, although the company hasn’t shared an exact timeline. Hence we can merely speculate at this point that the update could arrive on the Zenfone 5Z in Q4 2018. Although, ASUS is known for being quite sluggish with updates, so don’t hold your breath!
