iOS users won’t have to put up with the glitches in Apple Maps for too long now, and are set to get the real deal from Google.
Apple’s decision to do away with Google Maps in iOS6 and introduce their own proprietary mapping solution didn’t work out so well with several users complaining about errors, and some Australian tourists even landing up miles away from their intended destination.
The wait is now over, and Google Maps for iOS will be available on the App Store starting today. This will be a full-featured app, which will include all the goodies that Google Maps is known for notably voice guided turn-by-turn navigation, Street View, live traffic info, public transit directions et al.

Looks like Google finally decided enough was enough. Why should the poor users suffer just because Apple wanted to be stubborn? Furthermore, this is a nice way of showing Apple exactly how a mapping and navigation solution should be. Good Going Google, and Happy mapping to iOS users.
