Motorola upgrades Jelly Bean plans, ATRIX HD to get it this month

When Motorola announced that going forward, they would be focusing on software updates and being transparent in giving out info about updates to the public, everyone was no doubt a bit skeptical, considering this was coming from a company that was rightly infamous for their poor software updates support.

However, Google acquiring them had a serious effect, as we saw them post the list of all devices that would be getting updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and while many didn’t make the cut, some did, and Motorola even pushed out Jelly Bean updates amazingly quick to the RAZR M, RAZR HD, and the RAZR MAXX HD.

Motorola has now updated their upgrades list to indicate that the ATRIX HD will be getting updated to Jelly Bean this month, which confirms the fact that the soak test invites Motorola sent to some ATRIX HD owners last month were indeed to test out Android 4.1 before it could be rolled out to the general consumers. Android 4.1 brings a smoother interface, expandable and actionable notifications, Google Now, a better keyboard, and many more improvements, so it is good to see that Motorola is being so quick rolling it out to various devices, even if it might not be the latest version of Android anymore.

Other devices that are still in line to get Jelly Bean include the Photon Q, Electrify 2, Droid RAZR and RAZR Maxx, Droid 4, and the Droid Bionic, though Motorola still hasn’t stated the time frame for when the update will be rolling out to these devices, though Q1 of 2013 is a good guess.

Check the source page to see the official upgrade list, and don’t be too angry if you have a device that isn’t getting Jelly Bean, since Motorola’s rebate program may solve the problem for you.
