Motorola announces G5S and G5S Plus

Motorola has silently announced the much-rumored Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus today. Both the smartphones have been in the news for quite some time now and are finally official.

The Motorola Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus, in case you are wondering, are upgraded versions of the Moto G5 and G5 Plus handsets which were launched earlier this year. There aren’t many huge differences, though.

Motorola has improved cameras, included bigger displays and slightly more powerful processors on the new Moto G5S and G5S Plus handsets.

To be precise, the Moto G5S now features a 5.2-inch Full HD display in comparison to the 5.0-inch display on the Moto G5. Then there’s the 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC, a 16MP rear camera — improvement from the 13MP camera, and a 3,000mAh battery.

The Moto G5S Plus, on the other hand, now sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 13MP dual camera setup on the back, and an 8MP front-facing camera, all of which come as improvements over the Moto G5 Plus. And btw, there’s a new portrait mode for the rear camera as well.

Most of the other specs, however, remain the same as the ones seen on original Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus handsets.

As for the pricing, Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus bear a price tag of €249 (£219.99 in the UK) and €299 (£259.99 in the UK) respectively and will be made available for purchase in Europe sometime later this month.

Travel and adventure junkie. Which is why he’s now one of those cliche guys with a camera around his neck at all times. When doing neither, you’ll find him uber lazy and glued to Netflix.
