MIUI 10 now available for Redmi 6A, brings face unlock and July patch

Last week, Xiaomi released the global stable MIUI 10 update for the Redmi 6, suggesting that the update’s arrival on the budget Redmi 6A was imminent. Well, the device is now receiving the stable MIUI 10 update as of this writing.

If you own a Redmi 6A, an update with MIUI version 10.0.2.0.OCBMIFH is heading your way right now. The update not only installs a stable version of Xiaomi’s custom ROM, but it also introduces a bunch of new features, bug fixes and performance enhancements.

The update fixes issues in Bulgarian and German, Wi-Fi draining the battery, offset virtual buttons, brings AI portrait mode to the selfie camera, revamps system apps, adds Face unlock, optimizes camera image processing and performance, and installs a new Android security patch for the month of July 2018. In India, the MIUI 10.0.2 update also adds support for Hindi in Mi Apps.

The update is rolling out over the air for those who are currently running the stable version of MIUI 9 on the Redmi 6A, but like any other OTA update, it will take several days before all units get the download notification. If you had already made the switch to MIUI 10 beta, you’ll have to grab the firmware in the link below and do a manual installation of the stable ROM.
