Meizu Nougat update and Flyme 6 compatible devices revealed in leak

Meizu Nougat Flyme 6

A new leak provides the release date and supported device list for the upcoming Flyme 6 OS from Meizu. If you didn’t already know, Flyme 6 is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and will be available soon. And if the above image is anything to go by, then we can expect the Flyme 6 update to arrive on December 30.

Though, it would be too naive to think all the devices listed above would get Flyme 6 on December 30, rather, we’d take it as first rollout of Flyme 6 update, beginning with perhaps the Pro 6 sets.

Moreover, we really don’t expect Meizu to rollout Flyme 6 update with Nougat base on older devices. Maybe they will also release the Flyme 6 with Lollipop and Marshmallow base — like MIUI — for older devices, as the above pic is covering nearly all devices Meizu has released in last two years, and we know form experience that Meizu isn’t great with Android SO updates at all.

Here’s the complete list of Meizu smartphones that will get the Flyme 6 update, as per the leak;

  • Meizu PRO 6 Plus
  • Meizu PRO 6s
  • Meizu PRO 6
  • Meizu MX6
  • Meizu PRO 5
  • Meizu MX5
  • Meizu MX4 Pro
  • Meizu MX4
  • Meizu U20
  • Meizu U10
  • Meizu M1 Metal
  • Meizu M3 Max
  • Meizu M3 note
  • Meizu M3e
  • Meizu M3s
  • Meizu M3
  • Meizu M1 note
  • Meizu M2 note
  • Meizu M2

The first devices to get the Flyme 6 OS Nougat update will be the PRO 6 Plus, PRO 6s, PRO 6, MX6, PRO 5, MX5, and MX4 Pro, when looking at the leaked image. That could obviously change, but at least now we know that Meizu is delivering the Nougat update to a lot of devices.

Although not in the list above, the recently launched Meizu M5 Note is in contention to receive Flyme 6 update too.
