LG V50 ThinQ to be launched way earlier than usual

LG V50 ThinQ leak

LG’s flagship smartphones have been fairly underrated the past couple of years and are often overlooked in favor of Samsung and Huawei flagships. Nonetheless, LG has now announced they would be releasing the LG V50 a lot earlier than expected.

The V series phones are usually announced the same time as Galaxy Note and Pixel handsets in October, but LG is looking to release the V50 at MWC itself (via Korea Times). LG’s president, Kwon Bong-Seok at a conference in South-Korea said the company would be unveiling LG V50 ThinQ and the LG G8 ThinQ smartphones simultaneously at MWC 2019.

The company is now aiming to take on other OEMs by releasing a 5G compatible smartphones this year and the LG V50 ThinQ would be the company’s first 5G smartphone since the LG G8 ThinQ wouldn’t be getting 5G support. FYI, Samsung is also planning to launch a 5G variant of the Galaxy S10.

The devices would be launched together at MWC this year which is just a couple of days away now. This new strategy might or might not help the company boost its sales because even though they can now avoid competition from the likes of Galaxy Note 10 and Pixel 4 in October, the V50 will have to go up against the Galaxy S10. Google and Samsung since they would unveil their flagships such as the Note 10 and the Pixel 4 lineup later this year.

While LG’s smartphones are just as good as flagships from competitors such as Samsung, the underwhelming marketing paired with a bad software experience on LG smartphones are one of the few major reasons why the company is failing to impress tech enthusiasts.

All hope is now riding on the LG V50 ThinQ and LG G8 ThinQ which would be launched in a couple of months. Stay tuned to our page for more information about the devices when launched.
