Released in June 2019, the LG Stylo 5 is one of LG’s more budget-friendly offerings. The device doesn’t pack jaw-dropping features but has a few tricks up its sleeve, making it a phone worth considering.
LG’s Stylo lineup has been quite popular in recent years, thanks to the sweet stylus it comes with. And while that’s undoubtedly its main USP, there are a few other factors to consider as well. The device packs a big display, a respectable camera, and a decent battery — a combination you can’t ignore.
In this section, however, we’ll talk about the important software updates, which allow your device to operate at its best throughout its lifespan. Regular security updates, major bug fixes, highly-anticipated Android 10 release, and everything in between — you’ll find every bit of info on your LG Stylo 5 on this page. Now, without further ado, let’s get to it.
Will LG Stylo 5 get Android 10?
- LG Stylo 5 is not eligible for Android 10
- LG doesn’t give phones in Stylo series with even one OS upgrade
LG hasn’t been the most reliable when it comes to delivering timely updates, and, so far, has only confirmed Android 10 for its current flagships, the G8 and V50. Usually, all midrange devices get one OS update, but LG doesn’t follow this policy as any of the Stylo handsets in the past received even a single OS update.
So, even though LG Stylo 5 comes with Android 9 Pie pre-installed, we don’t think LG will release Android 10 for the device.
Update [October 03, 2019]: Verizon Wireless has started rolling out an update for the LG Stylo 5. Dubbed as Software Update 1, it carries software version Q720VS10b and bumps up the device’s security patch to September 2019.
