LG reveals Android Pie release date for LG V30, V35 ThinQ, and V40 ThinQ

LG’s software support keeps getting worse each year. From the failed attempts to deny the LG V20 an update to Android Pie to the painful delays of rolling out the software to the LG G7 ThinQ, yet nothing seems to be getting better.

Not relenting on its pursuit of doom, the Korean company is now making it even more painful for those using the LG V30, LG V30S, LG V35 ThinQ, and LG V40 ThinQ. According to an updated software release roadmap, the company now says these devices will receive Android 9 Pie in Q2 2019.

For comparison, Samsung has already updated its entire list of flagship phones from 2017 as well as a bunch of midrange phones to Android 9 Pie, yet not even every LG G7 ThinQ user has received Pie across the globe.

The fact that Android Pie will arrive on the V30, V30S, and V40 ThinQ in Q2 isn’t new. We already saw this in an earlier roadmap (image below) revealed by the company back in January 2019, but the same roadmap put the V35 ThinQ’s release date in Q1 2019, which has now changed to Q2 2019.

LG V35 Pie update

In case you were wondering, the release windows mentioned in this post are for the Korean market, but we can’t say the same for the global units. On the brighter side, Q2 will end on June 30th, so it’s possible that all four devices could get Pie in all regions across the globe during this window.

  1. It’s Q2 and still waiting for Android Pie on my G7. I really thought it would be better when I bought it from Google Fi …

  2. I don’t mind the wait i have used LG phones since G3 and 9/10 times it was worth the wait. Every other phone samsung, HTC etc. that i have owned with quick updates always had bugs and had tons of patch fixes. With LG after major OS update all I received is security updates and never had to do factory reset or root phone because of bad update.
