LG G7 ThinQ is now official, global availability begins in June

We already knew that LG had plans to tweak the name of the LG G6 successor and now the company has confirmed this change following the launch of the LG G7 ThinQ.

Sounds familiar right? Well, it should, because at the MWC 2018 the company also launched the LG V30S ThinQ, a tweaked version of the standard V30. Just so you know, the term ThinQ has everything to do with artificial intelligence (Voice AI and Vision AI), which is one of the hottest technologies in the smartphone industry right now.

That the ThinQ brand features on the LG G7 means you are getting lots of AI-based features on the handset, but some may appear to be a little gimmicky. Check out the specs below.

  • 6.1-inch 19.5:9 QHD+ LCD display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset
  • 4/6GB of RAM
  • 64/128GB of expandable storage (up to 2TB)
  • Dual 16MP main camera
  • 8MP front camera
  • 3000mAh battery
  • Android 8.0 Oreo
  • Extras: Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, IP68, MIL-STD 810G, USB-C, 3.5mm audio jack, 32-bit Hi-Fi QDAC, Quick Charge 3.0, Wireless charging, rear-mounted scanner, Face unlock, NFC, HDR10, Dolby Vision, Boombox speaker, etc

The LG G7 ThinQ may have been announced, but the company has kept quiet about the price. This possibly because the price will vary depending on your market, but it’s claimed the phone will retail at about $800.

Speaking of which, the G7 ThinQ will start selling in Korea in mid-May while the rest of the globe, including the U.S., will be able to purchase it beginning June onwards.
