In an official statement, LG has revealed details about its upcoming smartphone’s battery and the new technology company has put in place to keep their devices safe in the hands of consumers.
The new technology, as per LG, will enable LG G6’s battery to not overheat even at temperatures as high as 150 degrees. The new measures have come in effect for the safety of consuumers after devices from rival companies like Samsung and Apple have exploding due to battery overheat issues.

The new technology makes use of heat pipes made of copper to easily disseminate heat. This kind of tech is generally used in desktop PCs and notebooks to disperse internal heat through cooling pipes. This helps in reducing temperatures by 6% to 10%.
LG G6 internal structure is such that the hardware parts that tend to get heated are all kept apart from each other to stop concentration of heat at one area.
LG is really putting in great efforts to ensure the G6 have the best in-class architecture for internal heat management. The company has set standards even tougher than international standards in its lab tests to monitor heat on the LG G6.
We are conducting battery heat exposure tests to a temperature 15 percent higher than the temperature set by the international standards of the US and Europe. The battery also undergoes diverse tests such as piercing it with a sharp nail or dropping a heavy object on it from a high place.
Reportedly, Samsung will also explain the reason behind Note 7’s battery failure and explosions case. The company will post a video on January 23 explaining the whole thing that went wrong with Note 7’s battery or the internal hardware design of the device.
