[Update: AT&T too!] Verizon rolls out new June update for Galaxy S10, S10e and S10+, and July update for S10 5G

Update [July 31, 2019]: Besides Verizon, AT&T is also rolling out the June update again with the same new build no. ASG8. So this is also towards fixing the users getting locked out of system issue caused to some users by the original June update that rolled out the first week of July.

Verizon has rolled out the June update quite expeditiously this time, no less than on 2nd July itself. But it seems the update ran into issues and were to be pulled out. It’s being said that the problem was with the users getting locked out of the device.

The good news is though that the June update is now available again. The new version of the June update is ASG8, which is the same build number that rolled out for the Sprint and Xfinity users yesterday.

Naturally, the full software version for the three S10 sets would be G970FXXU3ASG8 (S10e), G973FXXU3ASG8 (S10) and G975FXXU3ASG8 (S10+).

Verizon hasn’t made the update official on its support pages yet but we think that could do that anytime now. Which is why we do not know what else is part of the update. However, one user did report better fingerprint sensor performance after the update — let’s hope more users confirm that we can ascertain if the ASG8 update is the reason behind this.

If you are using a Galaxy S10 handset on Verizon, we recommend you look for an update now. To check for an update, fire up the Settings app, scroll down and tap Software update, and then, tap Download and install.

A new update is also rolling out for the Galaxy S10 5G, which is receiving its just second update today. All that the changelog states is that the update ‘includes enhancements and improvements’ to the S10 5G, which could be actually fixes for the users getting locked issue as discussed above.

Update: Apparently, the build of the S10 5G’s update is ASGC (full software version bring G977UVRU1ASGC). For all we know, this seems to be the July update for the Verizon’s S10 5G with the new security patch being July 01, 2019.
