The Huawei Honor 7X has been making headlines thanks to the all-round package it brings to the budget smartphone market. That’s not to say it’s the best budget phone, period, because we also have the incredible phones in Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus and Honor 9 Lite.
Coming in as a successor to the highly popular Honor 6X, it was never a doubt that excitement levels will be beyond normal. And indeed Honor has not disappointed in any major way. Apart from the fact that it released the Honor 7X with the old Android Nougat, which it has already promised to update to Android Oreo at some point in future, Honor got everything else about the 7X just about right.

Still, many are asking whether the Honor 7X is waterproof and this is totally understandable. Given the top-notch photography the phone comes with, it won’t be a surprise to find people attempting shots around water pools or even when having some great times on the beach.
So, is the Honor 7X waterproof? Or Water-resistant? Well, no.
In fact, none of its competitors in the Redmi 5 Plus and Honor 9 Lite are water-resistant, either.
If you happen to be in any of these scenarios, do note that if anything goes wrong and your Honor 7X slips from your hand and into the water, it may be the last time you ever use it. This is because the phone doesn’t come with any known form of waterproofing apart from the basic protection afforded to any phone with a unibody design. This basic protection will keep the Honor 7X in working condition in cases where it drops in water but it’s removed immediately. However, you might start experiencing issues with the speaker since the grill can let in water.

Besides, for a phone that goes for $200 and has all that comes with the Honor 7X, missing out on waterproofing is pretty much understandable.
