International variants of Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge now receiving June security patch

Two devices from the Samsung Note series are currently receiving their June security patch. International variants of Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge are receiving the June update as an OTA update.

While Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has the build number N910FXXS1DQE9, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge comes with build number N915FXXS1DQF1.

Both the devices were launched three years back. Initially, they came with Android KitKat on board, however, later they were updated to Lollipop and then to Marshmallow. Sadly, they will remain on Marshmallow for their entire life, as they won’t get updated to Nougat.

As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.

It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update and keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent while installing the update.
