If these are Snapdragon 660 benchmarks, they are nothing short of awesome!

Qualcomm recently announced the new Snapdragon 660 chipset, which is the successor to the SD 650, 652, and the 653. Now, new benchmarks of a been posted online, which allegedly belong to the new SD 660.

The GeekBench benchmark results are truly amazing, even better than some higher-end chipsets from last year. The device running the SD660 processor is unknown, but it has 3GB of RAM, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board.

Presuming this is the SD660 chipset, it scored 1609 points in the Single-core test, and 5643 in the multi-core test. That is pretty awesome, specially when you compare it to a processor such as the SD820. A T-Mobile Galaxy S7 running the SD820 scored 1735 and 4196 points in the single-core and multi-core test, respectively.

As you can see, the multi-core performance is much higher than that of the SD820, and the single-core score isn’t much lower. The Snapdragon 660 processor has eight Kryo cores, four of them running at 2.2GHz, and the rest 4 running at 1.8GHz. The chipset is built on a 14nm process, and house an Adreno 512 GPU. Looks like 2017 will feature a lot of fast mid-range smartphones!
