March 06, 2019: Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 users have a new update rolling out as EMUI 8.0.0.217 and installs a new security patch level for February 2019. The update has thus far been spotted on variants of the Y7 Prime 2018 carrying model numbers LDN-AL10, LDN-TL10, LDN-AL00, LDN-AL20, LDN-TL20, and LDN-TL00.

The airborne update, of course, will take some time before all units of the Y7 Prime 2018 receive the download notification, so be patient.

Huawei Y7 Prime Android Pie update

• Update status is unknown
• But we still expect an update to Pie later this year

We’ve seen Huawei rolling out at least one major OS upgrade to some of its budget phones, which gives us some hope for Android 9 Pie update for both Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 and Y7 Prime 2019 editions. Both phones have Android Oreo pre-installed, with the latter getting the newer Oreo 8.1.

With the Huawei Y9 family set to receive the update to Android Pie, we hope Huawei will extend this gesture to the Y7 Prime duo too.
