Huawei Y7 Prime 2019: Specs and images revealed on TENAA

Huawei Y7 Prime 2018

Huawei fans are not new to the company’s huge collection of pocket-friendly smartphones that are usually part of the Y series.

As we had reported earlier this week, a new model is being lined up, the Huawei Y7 Prime 2019, and while we had only gotten our hands on the images of the phone alongside its model number thanks to a listing on the FCC, specs and more images are now available via TENAA.

Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 specs

  • 6.26-inch 19:9 HD+ (1520 x 720) LCD display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor
  • 3GB or 4GB RAM
  • 32GB or 64GB expandable storage, up to 512GB
  • Dual 13MP + 2MP main camera
  • 8MP front camera
  • 3900mAh battery
  • Android 8.1 Oreo

According to TENAA, the Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 has model numbers DUB-AL20, DUB-TL00 and DUB-AL00 representing different regions. The device steps up from where its predecessor left off, coming in with a bigger 6.26-inch panel with a taller 19:9 aspect ratio and a teardrop-style notch, but still keeps the same HD+ resolution.

Under the hood, the Y7 Prime 2019 is powered by an 8-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz, possibly the Snapdragon 450, and mated with either 3/32GB or 4/64GB memory options. The TENAA listing says the storage will be expandable by up to 512GB.

Moving onto photography, the Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 has a dual 13MP + 2MP camera on the back supported by an 8MP shooter on the front. Huawei has stepped up the battery department with a massive 3900mAh unit which should last more than a day thanks to the battery-sipping HD resolution.

In terms of software, EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo will run the show out of the box. Folks at MySmartPrice, who also have renders of the Y7 Prime 2019, say the phone will be sold in four color variants of Magic Night Black, Aurora Purple, Aurora Blue, and Coral Red. As per the listing on TENAA, there will be Black, Red, etc.

Huawei Y7 Prime 2019 price and availability

As we already noted, Huawei’s Y series is a target for the price sensitive market, which means we can only expect a modest price tag of about $250 or thereabout.

There isn’t much known about the launch date of the Huawei Y7 Prime 2019, but looking at the amount of information doing the rounds on the web, we won’t be surprised if the phone is unveiled this December, with availability across the globe to kick off in early 2019.
