Huawei’s renowned user interface, EMUI 10, is set to be officially unveiled at the Huawei Developer Conference in China on August 9th.

Ahead of the grand event, the focus is firmly set on the reveal of Huawei’s internally developed HongMeng OS. And while we’re still unsure whether we’ll get a glimpse of it, it’s been confirmed that the EMUI 10 will make an appearance.

EMUI 10 is based on the upcoming Android Q OS and is expected to ship with the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro later this year. As confirmed by a leak earlier, EMUI 10 doesn’t bring too many visual changes, as the launcher, status bar, Quick Settings, notifications, and Settings remain identical to the current EMUI 9.1. Some changes, such as permission control, system-wide dark mode, and a facelifted camera UI, however, have been bundled in.

A promo poster made its way to the Chinese networking site Weibo, which gave away EMUI 10’s launch date. It also teased a tagline, which roughly translates to, “Use the details to achieve beauty of quality.”

The Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are expected to be the first Huawei devices to get the taste of Android Q-based EMUI 10. However, as older devices, such as Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro, are also part of the Android Q beta program, we expect them to get the update sooner than later.

Earlier, a device list of EMUI eligible devices for the UK had leaked out, which included even the likes of Mate 10 and mate 10 Pro for EMUI 10 rollout, which is great news for Huawei fans.

The EMUI 10 will go up against Samsung’s One UI 2.0, which is estimated to release later this year as a beta before the stable version is out, beginning with the Galaxy S10 sets. The One UI 2.0 will also be based on Android Q, which in itself should be announced this month by Google, also giving the Q update its moniker.
