Huawei’s current flagships, the P20 and P20 Pro, as well as the Honor 10, are getting a new Android 9 Pie beta B110 update in China.
Information is scarce about any new features, but Huawei says you need to have software version 220.127.116.11 installed on board of your device, otherwise you won’t get this update. After the installation, the software version on your phone will be 18.104.22.168. The company notes that eligible phones should not have root.
You should also keep in mind that while the new update shouldn’t not clear the user’s data, it’s still recommended that you back up all important data before installing the new build on your device.
Like it’s the case with any update, you should also make sure you’re connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection before starting the download and that your phone’s battery is charged up.
Next week, Huawei is expected to host a media event in London during which the company will unveil its next-gen flagships, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. The two models will ship with Android 9 Pie out of the box and EMUI 9 on top.
The two flagships should follow in the footsteps of the successful P20 Pro model, which was the first to make a debut with a tri-camera on the rear.
