The country’s certification body has cleared three Huawei devices, two of which we believe are the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus. The devices have model numbers EML-AL00, CLT-AL00 and ATU-AL10 with no mention of the specific names they represent.
So, what makes us believe that two of these devices are the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus? For the uninitiated, the P20 is being developed under the codename Emily while the P20 Plus is using the codename Charlotte. Looking at model numbers EML and CLT, it’s easy to conclude that the former is the short form for Emily and the latter represents Charlotte.
But what about the third device with model number ATU-AL10? Well, our best guess is this could be the P20 Lite. However, the fact that the P20 Lite is codenamed Anne keeps us doubting if this is indeed the case. Perhaps something like ANN-AL10 would have made more sense, but then again, we are not the experts here.
Unlike what we are used to, the listings on TENAA don’t give us any other details about the certified Huawei phones, be it the images or specs. However, we’ve seen quite a good number of renders and leaks that have given us an idea of what to expect.
Huawei P20 and P20 Plus should be unveiled in March, which is when these uncertainties will come to an end.
