May 23, 2019: A new update is rolling out to Huawei P10 and P10 Plus users in China for models VTR-AL00/VTR-TL00 and VKYAL00/VKY-TL00. The update has three different changelogs depending on your current EMUI version.
For those coming from EMUI 8.0.0.372, the new EMUI 9.0.1.179 update installs a stable version of Android 9 Pie. If you are coming from EMUI 9.0.1.150, the update has a changelog that includes April 2019 security patch, fixes for issues with WLAN connection, optimizations for camera performance and stability, improvements to launch and photo taking speeds, and so on.
As for those coming from EMUI 9.0.1.178, the same build B179 fixes an issue where the headset monitoring feature occasionally doesn’t work properly.
April 15, 2019: A new update is available in China for the P10 and P10 Plus with model numbers VTR-AL00/VTR-TL00 and VKY-AL00/VKY-TL00. The update has more than just the latest April 2019 security patches.
As per the changelog, you also get fixes for Wi-Fi connectivity issues, optimized camera performance with improved launch and shooting speeds, fixes call forwarding and call waiting issues, updates pre-downloaded songs to better cater to your preference and improves system performance and stability.
March 30, 2019: While folks in Europe and the U.S. already got their slice of Pie, the best those in Canada can get is a coming soon release date from their carriers. Three major carriers in the country – Telus, Fido, and Rogers – have updated their software schedules to reflect that Huawei P10 and P10+ will be upgraded to Pie soon.
Of course, we can’t tell how soon this is, but history tells us it can be anything from days to weeks.
