June 07, 2019: The Chinese variants of the Huawei P Smart, known as Huawei Enjoy 7S, is receiving a new EMUI 18.104.22.168 update that installs a number of changes to the device.
The changelog is in Chinese, but well update this post when we get hold of the English version pretty soon.
March 15, 2019: A new EMUI 22.214.171.124 update is rolling out to the Chinese variant of the Huawei P Smart with model numbers FIG-AL00, FIG-AL10, FIG-TL00, and FIG-TL10. The airborne update is staggered, which means some units will receive the OTA download notification ahead of others.
We also expect the global P Smart to get this update with February 2019 patches pretty soon, although it might come with a slightly different EMUI version.
For those already trialing EMUI 9.0 beta on the P Smart in China, there is also a new update to version 126.96.36.199, which installs a bunch of bug fixes and optimizations. The changelog is in Chinese, but we were able to translate it, as seen in the screengrabs below.
January 29, 2019: If you own a variant of the Huawei P Smart with any of the model numbers FIG-AL00, FIG-AL10, FIG-TL00, and FIG-TL10, you can submit your interest to join EMUI 9.0 beta program that grants you early access to Android 9 Pie. These model numbers are for Chinese variants, where the device goes by the name Huawei Enjoy 7S.
We don’t know when the global availability of Pie will begin for the P Smart, but with what’s happening in China, we could see the OS arrive in its stable form in early Q2 2019, if not late Q1, although the latter is unlikely.
There are only 2000 slots available and to qualify, your device must be using EMUI 188.8.131.52, so be sure to double check this before submitting your registration.

Huawei P Smart was unveiled towards the end of 2017 in China, where it goes by the name Huawei Enjoy 7S. It took the company up to August 2018 to bring the Huawei P Smart+, a superior variant of the late 2017 release. This device sells in India and other markets as Huawei Nova 3i.
These devices, like other midrange phones from Huawei, are bound to receive regular software updates from the company to keep them performing to the best levels and on this page, we keep track of these updates, be it the smaller, monthly improvements or the major Android OS upgrades.
