January 24, 2019: Huawei has a new update for the Mate 20 in China. The EMUI 22.214.171.124 update started rolling out a few days ago and as of this writing, the company is already seeding a hotfix that improves system stability in certain scenarios. As for the OG build 185, Mate 20 users with models HMA-AL00 and HMA-TL00 are getting a new security patch for January 2019 alongside an automatic watermark switch and automatically adds the Leica watermark, and an updated folder layout (3×4 format) when using the rear camera recording for a better experience.
The update is rolling out over the air and according to Huawei, Mate 20 users must be using at least EMUI 126.96.36.199 to qualify for the new OTA update.
January 22, 2019: Users of the Mate 20 in the Asia-Pacific region (C636) are receiving a new EMUI 188.8.131.52 (C636E10R3P2) update and with it comes quite a number of goodies, among them January 2019 security patches, a new super macro camera mode for better closeup photos as well as improvements to the smoothness of navigation gestures, the zoom shortcut in the viewfinder, and call experience in certain scenarios.
The update is rolling out right now in some Asian countries but it should arrive on more models soon enough.
