Huawei is replacing smartphone batteries in China for 99 Yuan ($15)

If you have an old Huawei phone, you should probably take advantage of the company’s ongoing 99 Yuan battery replacement program before it comes to a conclusion later this year.

Folks in China can take advantage of an event Huawei has held from early this month where one can replace their smartphone battery at a cost of just 99 Yuan, which is an equivalent of about $15. From what we can gather from the poorly translated post in Huawei Club, this price includes the spare part as well as the cost of replacing the battery, which makes the whole process pretty much affordable for anyone out there.

What remains unclear is whether this offer takes into account all Huawei phones or it has a specific target. Also, it is unclear whether this offer will be available outside China, but we’d like to see the company spreading this love to major global markets like India and parts of Europe in the near future.

The program kicked off on September 5th and will end on December 5th, so if you are in China, make sure you seize your chance before time elapses.
