Huawei Honor View 20 update adds AR measurement feature

Honor View 20

Honor unveiled the View 20 running Magic UI 2 and not EMUI 9 on top of Android 9 Pie, something that caught many by surprise. Why Honor would make this change is still baffling to us, especially since the skin looks a lot like EMUI.

That aside, the Magic 2 UI has a lot that it adds on top of Pie. As a result, the company is always rolling out new updates to the skin to improve these features as well as add others, just like in the latest update to the View 20.

Arriving as version 9.0.1.173 for those currently using version 9.0.1.165 (or version 9.0.1.174 for those using version 9.0.1.166), the update adds the AR Measure app that lets users measure dimensions of objects as well as human height.

The same update also optimizes touchscreen sensitivity and improves general system-wide stability and performance.

It’s worth noting that this is a limited edition update that is targeting a few units of the View 20 in China, where the device is simply known as Honor V20. Thus, make sure your device has either model number PCT-AL10 or PCT-TL10 and is running the aforementioned software version in order to get the latest OTA update.

Of course, we expect the global View 20 to get this update in the coming days.
