Huawei Honor 7X is getting December security fix as version 8.0.0.360

We just reported that the Honor 8 Pro has started receiving the latest update that brings November security fix to the device and now hot on the heels we are reporting that Huawei’s on-line sub-brand Honor has released December security fix for its budget offering, the Huawei Honor 7X, in China.

For a recall, the Huawei Honor 7X launched at the end of the last year with Android 7.0 Nougat and later upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo in May 2018.

The latest update to the Huawei Honor 7X comes in version 8.0.0.360. The company says the latest update improves the system security with new Google security patches. The update is in itself innocuous because it won’t erase the personal data but as precaution users should back up their important data before the update begins.

In case any issue crops up out of the blue, users have HiCare, Huawei Club to go or to call the official helpline at 400-830-8300 or 800-830-8300 (landline).

The Honor 7X is driven by an intermediate Kirin 659 octa-core SoC clubbed with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. It sports 16MP+2MP dual rear-camera setup and a single 8MP selfie shooter. A 3,340mAh battery fuels the device.

After being bumped to Android 8.0 Oreo the Honor 7X has managed to acquire a few extra features such as Ride Mode, Game Suite, and a shortcut to Paytm. For clarity, the Honor 7X is an inexpensive device, but we still expect an update to Pie at some point in 2019, just like the Honor 6X got two major OS upgrades.
