Honor 10 Lite: All you need to know

Honor 10 Lite

Huawei Honor 10 Lite was launched in China on November 21. It was previously touted to be the skeletal version of Honor 10 and indeed it has now been revealed that this is actually the case for the most part.

Huawei had previously published a teaser of the phone on Weibo that revealed a substantially different rear panel when compared with Honor 10. The dual rear cameras are vertically stacked as opposed to horizontal, and there’s a fingerprint scanner at the back too, something that was mounted below the display on Honor 10.

Honor 10 Lite

Truth be told, the Honor 10 Lite is now your ordinary Lite version of the Honor 10 as you’d expect it, however, you are getting a piece of hardware that serves the purpose just as fine. The major highlights are the new Kirin 710 processor that will be powering midrange Huawei/Honor devices for the better part of the near future and the tear-drop design of the display notch.

Speaking of which, the panel stretches across 6.21 inches of real estate and thanks to the new 19.5:9 aspect ratio, you end up with a device that is similar in size to a 5.2-inch handset. The resolution is similar to the outgoing model and since the bezels are much smaller, there is no room for a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, instead, its located on the back of the phone.

As for the rest of the specs, the Honor 10 Lite packs 3GB RAM on the base model of 64GB storage, but there are more memory options depending on where you buy the phone from. However, photography, software and battery specs remain unchanged regardless of the market, meaning you get a dual 13MP + 2MP main shooter, a massive 24MP selfie camera, EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9 Pie, and a 3400mAh battery unit that is charged via a microUSB port.

Note that there is no fast charging technology here, but with the 5V/2A 10W charging technology, you are getting the maximum amount of juice that the regular charger can pump into the Honor 10 Lite, so expect significantly speedy charging times.

The Honor 10 Lite has a doppelganger in the shape of Huawei P Smart 2019, a device that could end up in the same markets as its counterpart.
