How to fix Always on Display not turning off on Galaxy S10

Samsung has had the Always-On-Display (AOD) feature on its phones for quite some time now. This feature is also on the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e, but it seems some units are experiencing an issue where the AOD can’t just be turned off.

Apparently, the AOD feature doesn’t turn off when it should, like when the phone is facing down or in the pocket. This, in turn, becomes another source of battery drain.

Possible solution:

Apparently, some say this could be an issue resulting from the new location of the proximity sensor under the display screen. But the fact that some S9 and Note 9 units are also affected could mean it’s a software-related bug that needs a software update to fix it.

For now, we don’t know when Samsung plans to release this bug fixer, but hopefully, its soon.

The only solution the problem is to update the device to the latest available software. Companies sometimes fix a bug without announcing so. Given the ton of fixes the Galaxy S10 handsets have received over the past few months, it won’t be very surprising if Samsung has already fixed the issue.

So, we would recommend you to go ahead and update the software on your device now.
