Qualcomm is currently working on some new chipsets for 2018, and one of them includes the new Snapdragon 670 SoC. We don’t know a lot about this chip yet, but a new leak tells us what the chipset might support.

According to Roland Quandt, the company is already testing the chipset on a test platform. The Snapdragon 670 will be a mid-range chipset, a successor to the 660. The chipset will have higher clock speeds and support larger display sizes, RAM, and more.

It is also likely that the chipset may be based on a 10-nm manufacturing process and will be manufactured in Korea. Whenever a new chipset is announced or is ready for mass use, it is tested on a prototype smartphone.

The mobile device Qualcomm is currently using to test the Snapdragon 670 includes a large WQHD resolution display. The size of the display isn’t known, but it has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The device also has up to 6GB of DDR4X RAM, 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, a 22.6MP rear camera, and a 13MP front camera.

From the test setup, we can see that 2018 is going to be a good year for smartphones. The mid-range phones are going to get even better thanks to this new chipset and all that it can support. The company is also going to bring out the high-end Snapdragon 845 chipset with Samsung next year.
