Presently, when you accidentally (or umm, intentionally) send a message on WhatsApp that you should not have sent, there is nothing you can do, other than regretting it. However, that is about to change, as WhatsApp will soon let you recall your messages.
In simple words, in the future, you can unsend your WhatsApp messages. The feature is known as Recall on WhatsApp. So, yep, you have guessed it right. No more regrets for typos or accidental messages to your ex.
The feature is a hidden feature as of now and is not live yet. However, once the feature is live, you can recall a message within 5 minutes after sending it.
To recall a WhatsApp message once the feature is live, follow the steps:
- Touch and hold the WhatsApp text that you want to recall.
- Select recall from the top bar (or it would probably be in the three-dot menu).
- Tap Recall from the popup window.
That’s all you have to do.
Interestingly, as per WABetaInfo, who keeps track of WhatsApp hidden features, WhatsApp is going to write a FAQ soon about Recall, since the popup window for Recall, now includes “Learn more” button.
