October 9 is the date set by Google for the unveiling of the next-gen Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. But according to a new report coming out of MySmartPrice, this isn’t the only hardware product that Google will launch on that date.
The Google Home Hub will be the company’s first Smart Display device, a cross between a tablet and a smart speaker. Centered around the Google Assistant, the product will be able to answer a variety of verbal commands by serving up relevant information each time you talk to it.

A variety of leaked product pages show the Home Hub will also be able to do things like show footage from Nest security cams on the device’s display, view content from Google Photos and more.
The product will apparently feature a volume rocker, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an ambient light and color sensors. But what’s notably missing from the equation is a front camera like similar devices from Lenovo and JBL have. So does this mean you won’t be able to place Duo video calls? We certainly hope not, as not including one would be a massive oversight from Google.
The report also reveals that at launch, the Google Home Hub will be available in Chalk White and Charcoal. Weighing only 480 g, it will ship with a power adapter, a quick start guide and warranty in the box.
