Gionee has launched the M7 smartphone in China that features a full-screen display — company’s first, BTW! — and a powerful specsheet except for the average-ish processor in Helio P30 (codename MT6758). Although, for what it’s worth, the Gionee M7 is powered by a premium GPU chip known as Mali-G71, the one that handles the graphical duties for the Galaxy S8 too.
FYI, company is also working on Gionee S11, which would also feature a 6″ full-screen display, but with an improved processor, MT6763.
The Gionee M7 features a cool 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, expandable with up to 256GB micro SDcard. You have 16MP+8MP dual camera at the back, while the device is sporting 8MP sensor in the front. Although just 7.2mm thick, the Gionee M7 weighs pretty heavy at 180 grams.
The Gionee M7 is powered by Android 7.1.1 OS, and come sis variety of colors. You have a choice between as many as five colors:Â Gem Blue, Navy Blue, Maple Red, Champagne Gold, and Black. Clearly, Gionee is trying to give you your favorite color here, assuming your choice falls within these five.
The Gionee M7 comes with a metal body that has a 6.01-inch full-screen AMOLED display at the front — easily the M7’s most striking feature — which is powered by Full HD resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. That Gionee is giving you an AMOLED display here is an awesome thing, considering the only other full-screen budget device you have right now with an specsheet like this is Vivo V7+, and that gives you an IPS LCD display powered by a very mediocre resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels.
You get dual SIM card support with the M7, both of nano type, and a capable 4,000mAh battery.
