Samsung recently rolled out the latest September 2018 security patches to the Galaxy J7 Core and Galaxy J5 2017 handsets soon after upgrading the duo to the newer Android Oreo OS. Apparently, this same security patch level is now making its way to the flagship Galaxy Note 8 as part of the latest software version N950FXXU5CRHA.
The update is pretty huge for a typical monthly security patch, weighing in at over 700MB, but Samsung has good reasons for this. Besides installing the latest Android security patch, the CRHA update also brings new functionalities to the Note 8 camera – AR Emoji and super slow-motion video recording.

These are camera tricks that made their debut this year courtesy of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9, but being software-related perks, they were always gonna find their way to the equally flagship-level Galaxy Note 8 despite its age.
The CRHA update is coming in over the air, so don’t freak out if you haven’t seen the OTA notification by now, but it should arrive in the next few days.
This is super-awesome !! It’s really nice that Samsung is pushing these features to not-so-old Note 8. I was eagerly waiting for these…..especially super-slow motion !!
