Galaxy Note 10 to get One UI 2 Android 10 beta update on Oct 21

We were expecting Samsung to hand us Android 10 beta for Galaxy S10 sets today but it looks like that ain’t happening. However, we may have a date set for the release of Android 10 update — under One UI 2 beta program, yes — for another Samsung flagship in the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.

According to a screenshot shared by a user with Sammobile, a Samsung customer rep is seen telling the user that the company plans to release the One UI 2 beta update based on Android 10 on October 21 for the two Note 10 sets. We think Samsung will exclude the Note 10 5G handset from the initial Android 10 rollout and will bring the Android 10 update for the 5G variants later on.

Even though the customer reps aren’t as reliable as we would want, the date also seemingly matches the general prediction for the Android 10 release for Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ sets, especially considering the company’s trend of releasing the One UI beta update for the Note series a few weeks after making it available for the Galaxy S handset, just like Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 last year.

The One UI 2 update will bring all the goodies from the Android 10 update like Dark mode, improved Gestures Navigation, better Sharing Menu, Live Caption, Bubbles, better permissions management, Accent Colors and Themes, and more. While, Samsung will also add a few features of its own the One UI, like a native screen recorder, new Quick Settings menu, etc. Find the list of One UI 2 features here.

If you are wondering when Samsung will release the stable Android 10 update for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+, well, you may see that happening sometime in November. It takes OEMs usually a month’s time to quash the bugs reported under the beta update to make it ready for release under the stable channel.
