Galaxy J7 Prime Nougat update now rolling out in India, build G610FDDU1BQH9

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime users it’s time to rejoice. Finally, after a long wait, Samsung has pushed Nougat update to Galaxy J7 Prime users in India.

The update weighs around 1GB and is currently rolling out as an OTA update. It arrives as version number G610FDDU1BQH9, G610FODD1BQH9 and G610FDDU1BQH5 depending on the device variant.

For those not in the know, Android Nougat brings quick app switching (double tap the recent key to go to the last app), split screen mode, revamped notification shade which bundles similar notifications together, clear recent apps button (present at top), a new row of quick settings, easier settings navigation thanks to navigation menu present under hamburger icon and suggested settings.

The update also brings “Dual messenger” support on J7 Prime devices. Further, the update also includes various other under-the-hood performance improvements as well as other minor system enhancements too.

Before downloading the update, ensure that your Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has sufficient charge (we recommend 50% or above) and back up your important data before installing the update in the event of an installation failure.

Since it is an OTA update, you will receive a notification when the update arrives on your device. In case you are too impatient to wait, you can check for the update manually by heading to Settings > About device > System updates.
