Galaxy J7 Plus Oreo update is now rolling out!

Android 9 Pie is all the rage right now, but users of Samsung Galaxy J7 Plus, otherwise known as Galaxy C8 in China or Galaxy C7 2017 for that matter, are only but joining the Oreo bandwagon.

The Galaxy J7 Plus came about towards the end of 2017 and runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. The device was the first in the Galaxy J series to get a dual-lens camera. In fact, it was only the second Samsung device after the Galaxy Note 8 to feature a dual-lens camera on the back, but due to its limited availability, not so many outside Southeast Asia know about it.

According to reports just arriving on our desk, Samsung has now started seeding the update to Android 8.1 Oreo for the Galaxy J7 Plus with model number SM-J710F, installing software version C710FDXU2BSB1.

The same update also installs a new Android security patch for February 2019, which isn’t the latest version available. But of course, owners of the J7 Plus shouldn’t have any problem with this as long as they have Oreo 8.1 installed.

The firmware first appeared online yesterday, suggesting the rollout should be ongoing, if it hasn’t started already. Of course, the whole process will be staggered, meaning some users will get it ahead of others.
