Galaxy J5 2017 gets specsheet out via a leak

Shortly following the specs leak of the Galaxy J5 2017 on Geekbench, the device seems to have found its way on the popular 3-D benchmarking site GFXBench. Bearing the model number SM-J530, the Galaxy J5 2017 will likely ship with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box which is a big win for Samsung fans.

Giving a detailed overview about the device itself, the Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 is listed to include a 4.8-inch display which might not be correct owing to the fact that the J5 2016 model had a 5.2-inch display, but with Samsung, we can never be sure.

At the heart of the device resides an Exynos 7870 processor which is a great pick for its entry level price point. Furthermore, the device is likely to include 2GB RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage which if the reports are to be believed, may or may not include an expandable storage option. The device also flaunts 12 MP front and rear cameras which surely is an interesting combination if Samsung decides to actually go with it.

While we understand that the specs presented on the listing may not be entirely accurate, the specsheet provided is being received with mixed emotions. Although we applaud Samsung’s decision to include Nougat and Exynos 7870 in an entry-level device, the inclusion of mere 2GB of RAM coupled with its 16GB of internal storage are disappointing to say the least.

With no confirmed reports out yet, here’s hoping that Samsung makes some changes to the Galaxy J5 2017 to make it more appealing to the masses.
