A little over a week ago, Samsung Galaxy A8 2018 users in Russia started receiving the update to Android 9 Pie, right after the rollout for the bigger Galaxy A8+ 2018 had commenced. India followed soon after with a similar update and now the firmware is available in more markets across Europe and Asia.
The update has been spotted in multiple European and Asian countries carrying software version A530FXXU4CSC6 and besides installing the new One UI interface and tons of new features on top of Pie, the update also introduces the latest March 2019 security patches.
In comparison, early adopters of the Pie update in both Russia and India had to make do with February 2019 security patches. To be more specific, the latest A8 Pie update is available in Greece, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Portugal, and Germany.
Like any other OTA rollout, we can’t tell when Pie will arrive for the A8 variant sold in your country, but there are signs the wait won’t be too long.
