The Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 is currently receiving a new software update. The new build is rolling out to users in the UAE and it includes the latest Android security patch.

If you’ve got a Galaxy A5 2017, then you should be receiving the update soon. Users outside the UAE should also see the update arrive in the next few days or a week. The update is being delivered over-the-air and carries the build number A520FXXU2BQJ6.

There’s nothing significant in this update as the previous security update. However, this one does fix that Wi-Fi KRACK bug and installs the November Android security patch. Apart from that, about 6 bugs affecting Samsung devices have also been patched in this update. Google rolled out the November patch earlier this month, which fixes 61 vulnerabilities in Android.

You can manually check for the update on your Galaxy A5 2017 by heading over to Settings > Software Update. Make sure the device has more than 50 percent charge, and is connected to a Wi-Fi network, before installing the update.
