Galaxy A5 (2016) now receiving Nougat update in Netherlands

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)

Samsung is finally rolling out the Android Nougat update to the unbranded Galaxy A5 (2016) handsets in Netherlands. There’s currently no word on when the T-Mobile or Vodafone (aka branded) phones will receive the update.

In case you are wondering, an unbranded handset is the one that is not purchased either from T-Mobile or Vodafone but from a different provider.

If you own an unbranded Galaxy A5 (2016), you should see the update notification pop up anytime on your phone. To check for the update manually, however, you can visit Settings > About device > Software updates on your device.

The update is arriving with the build number A510FXXU4CQE9 and installs the Android 7.0 Nougat on your phone alongside the May security patch.

With the update installed on your Galaxy A5 (2016), you should be able to use all the Nougat features including split-screen mode, improved Doze mode, and the like.

In addition, the update also brings some aesthetic changes to the phone as well. Samsung’s interface has received a much-needed facelift along with the icons and the notification shade has also been revamped.

You also get support for features like Secure Folder which can be found on Google Play Store. Here’s how to set it up in case you need any help with the process (the setup guide was written for Galaxy Note 7 but the steps, for the most part, should be same for any Samsung phone).
