Essential will be quick to update Essential Phone with latest security patches

If you are an Android fan and haven’t been living under a rock, you might be aware that a new device was launched recently that caught everyone’s attention. We know, we know that almost every other day a new Android device is launched, you can’t keep with everything, but hey, this device is different.

The device, which goes by the moniker Essential PH-1 was launched by Andy Rubin. And who is Andy Rubin? He is the co-creator and father of Android. Oh, come on. You ought to know!

In addition to impressing us with the specs of the device (more details below), the recent news about the device has left us elated. The Essential Company in a statement to Andro Guider has confirmed that it is confident on providing monthly security updates to the device.

This is great news, and since, the Essential phone runs on almost stock Android, it won’t be difficult to push the updates regularly, however, very few companies keep their promise. So, yeah, take the news with a pinch of salt.

About the specs of the Essential PH-1, the phone flaunts a titanium body with 5.71-inch QHD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 cover glass. Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage and 3,040mAh battery powers the device. In the camera area, the device houses 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera.
