Huawei was at the IFA 2018 event in Berlin and among the high profile announcements it made was EMUI 9.0 that is based on Android 9 Pie. At the event, the company confirmed that the beta testing program will include up to nine devices, among them three Honor phones and that the stable version will be out in Q4 2018.
Well, more details have emerged following the company’s official launch of EMUI 9 and Android 9 Pie beta in China. As expected, the device list hasn’t changed, where those using the P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Design, Mate RS Porsche Design, Honor 10, Honor V10 or Honor Play can join the program right away.

Apparently, Huawei will begin rolling out the stable version of EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie on October 16th. This will be a little over two months since Google published the source code in AOSP, which makes sense, especially thanks to Project Treble. Still, you can never be sure with software release dates because anything can happen somewhere along the way.
